Sir Seretse Khama International Airport (IATA: GBE) is located 15KM from the capital city of Gabarone in Botswana. In 1984 this airport was named after the first President of Botswana. Various regional airlines operate from this airport as well as international routes served by Qatar, Kenya Airlines and Air Namibia. This is a modern but small airport that has services that include a post office, airport lounge, car hire, cafes and money exchange. Gabarone the capital city has a population of over 230000 people and is home to the Botswana Stock Exchange and other important Botswana companies. The city gained its name from the chief of  the Tiokwa Tribe (Chief Gabarone). Gabarone has a sunny climate most of the year with the average daily temperature being in excess of 30 °C.

Botswana is well known for it’s wildlife and a great place to visit is the Gabarone Game Reserve where many African Mammals can be found roaming freely. Botswana generally has become a bit of a success story since its independence from Britain in 1966 (the year Britain won the World Cup in Football) At that time it was regarded as very poor but has developed successfully to become a richer country with its diamond lead economy.

Music in Botswana is important to everyone and in the education system it is essential that everyone studies Music including traditional songs and dances from the country including the energetic san dance. They even have their own Botswana Hip Hop radio station.
